Text notes appear within the text rather than as an endnote. They are part of the standard and are separated from the paragraph to convey emphasis. They are set in Palatino, flush left, first word only CAPS, followed by a colon (e.g., “NOTE:”).
If there is only one note, text runs in with “NOTE:” (see Sample).
If there are multiple notes, “NOTES:” is set flush left on its own line, and the actual notes are numbered consecutively beginning with 1 in parentheses. Each note is set flush left on separate lines, with run over aligning on the first word. See Sample.
If a note contains a breakdown, the normal breakdown scheme applies (see Sample). Normal equation and paragraph rules also apply.
